A national campaign will be launched this week to remind consumers how to identify genuine Aussie products and produce. The Government is currently working to introduce a mandatory country-of-origin symbol for food products, but until that symbol is introduced, the Australian Made, Australian Grown kangaroo logo will remain Australia’s only registered country-of-origin certification trade mark for the full range of locally made and grown goods. The AFA and The Australian Made Campaign are urging the Australian Government to stay on course with its proposals for mandatory country-of-origin labelling and not be distracted by issues related to the USA’s country-of-origin regime. While this is only concerning food products initially the AFA would like the Government to apply this to all products and ensure all imported products meet Australian standards. Read More . . .
